Buena Vista Biomass Power is a clean burning biomass plant designed to output 18MW of base load electric generating capacity.
Brahma Group, a commercial builder exceeding $300 million annually, has offices in seven states and maintains between 900 and 1300 employees with over 100 office staff. They implemented Timberscan in 2013 so that they could get ahead on coding and approving the multitude of invoices that come in on a weekly basis.
“Most of our product managers spend their time out of the office,” said Mel Pollard, Controller of Brahma Group. “We have a ton of people on the road, in the field, not really getting a chance to sit down in front of a computer. We really needed a mobile solution.”
Brahma completed the mechanical scope of work for Marathon Oil’s Spring Turnaround at the refinery located in Cody, Wyoming.
Founded in 2006, Brahma Group began using Sage Timberline Office in 2009 (now called Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate) as their accounting software. They work on a huge variety of projects: Concrete work, mining, refineries, renewable space, and clean energy, such as wind turbines and a thermosolar facility in Nevada.
With the diversity of work and project types, comes a diversity of circumstances that require their employees to conduct business on the go. Brahma Group signed up for Timberscan Mobile with the goal of making coding and approving invoices more convenient and to reduce the overall time spent in the process. The install was quick, and training was simple and straight forward. Employees had their choice of using the web, iPhone and Android apps, and they quickly adjusted to the mobile work flow.
While Timberscan helped them digitize their invoices and route them electronically to their users, Timberscan Mobile makes that process smooth, easy, and extremely convenient. Brahma Group’s users get notified on their mobile devices when a new invoice is available for approval. They can pull their device out, approve the invoice, and put it away in just a few seconds. “It’s no secret that while the look and feel of Timberscan is good,” Pollard said. “Mobile is faster and approval times have dropped substantially.”
