Crowdsharing Construction Equipment?
Taking a cue from the crowdsharing fame of companies like Uber (the rent-a-car-and-driver service that's taking the transportation industry by storm) and Airbnb (the service that lets homeowners rent their properties in lieu of hotels), we now have Dozr. Have a piece of construction equipment laying around? A bulldozer or a forklift or a backhoe? Earn some money with it between jobs with Dozr, the first person-to-person construction equipment rental company.
Based in Ontario, the company is seeing success right out of the gate. The front page lists a tractor for $114 per day, a bulldozer for $208, and a large backhoe for $492. Billed as "For contractors by contractors," Dozr claims that all of their lenders have been thoroughly vetted for safe and honest business practices.
It's only in Canada for now, but their success appears real, and the groundwork has been laid for this service to grow.
